2021 ICC Codes NOW in Effect

As of January 1st, 2026 the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC) has transitioned into the 2021 code cycle. This brings us to the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC).

There is a grace period to remain in the 2018 UCC/2017 NEC for construction contracts signed PRIOR TO January 1, 2026. The grace period ends on June 30, 2026. An application for a permit must be made prior to June 30, 2026 for the grace period to apply. All work after June 30, 2026 must comply with the 2021 UCC/2020 NEC.

ICC A117.7 – 2009 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities remain in effect until the next code cycle.
