Meeting Minutes

Manheim Township Municipal Building

                                September 20, 2006                                          

Roll Call:                           Ron Kistler, Vice Chair

                                            Lynn M. Stauffer, Secretary

                                            Jeff Helm, Treasurer

                                            Don Forry, Chair (Excused)

Others in attendance included: Walt Siderio, City of Lancaster; Gary Horning, West Lampeter Township.

Call to Order: Ron Kistler, Vice Chair, welcomed all and began the meeting at

2:00 p.m.  He led all in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Don Update: Ron Kistler updated the members on Don Forry's progress since his bicycling accident. He broke both hips and dislocated his femur, and should be out of the hospital by September 28. All members concurred that we all wish him a speedy recovery.  A get-well card was signed for mailing. 

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the July 19, 2006 meeting were distributed for review.  No action was taken.

Treasurer’s Report: Jeff Helm gave the treasurers report.  It was noted that there is a balance of $15,987.52. 

Business: 

GOLF SHIRTS: Jeff Helm reported that he has not received a quote from Jason Stevens for the purchase of golf shirts for LanCode.  He will contact Jason and report at the next meeting.

ENDORSEMENT OF BERKS COUNTY CHAPTER: Ron Kistler reported that he was notified that the application from the Berks County Chapter has been submitted to ICC for approval.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: Don had announced at the last meeting that the 2006 codes must be adopted by December 31, 2006.  Discussion was also held on training opportunities for the 2006 codes. 

INCORPORATION:  A brief discussion was held on LanCode incorporating.  Jeff Helm is working on getting more information together for a report at a future meeting.  It was decided to wait until Don Forry could follow up on this matter.

 ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT BY L & I: A brief discussion was held on the accessibility audit.  Many municipalities have been audited and others have been notified that an audit will be performed in the near future.  Many helpful tips were offered to members regarding administrative procedures and inspections. Additional information can be found on the L & I website

ADJOURNMENT:  The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 PM.
