Call to Order:   Ron Kistler, Vice Chair, welcomed all and began the meeting at 1:00 p.m.  He led all in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the March 9, 2005 meeting was approved as submitted on a motion by Gary Horning, seconded by Walt Siderio.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Jeff Helm, Treasurer, presented a current Treasurer’s Report dated June 1, 2005 showing an ending balance of $15,626.97.  He mentioned that several new members have registered bringing the membership to approximately 50.  Two seminars were held recently, IBC Accessibility and ASHRAE.  Both were well attended.  On a motion by Frances Spangler, seconded by Walt Siderio, the treasurer’s report was accepted.  Motion carried.

BIA Roundtable Meeting: Vice Chair Kistler announced that a second roundtable discussion meeting with the BIA is planned for June 27, 2005 at Manheim Township.  The meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. 

Revision to the By-Laws:  Vice Chair Kistler distributed the most recent draft of the Lancaster County Code Association By-Laws dated March 9, 2005.  All members are to review them and report back at the next regularly scheduled meeting.  A short discussion was held on the members that serve as directors of the association.  Clarification will be made at the next meeting. 

Residential Energy Code Workshop: Vice Chair Kistler presented the speaker for the meeting, Bob Murphy from Dow Chemical Co. 

Bob spoke on braced wall design for residential construction as well as the latest energy code issues and developments.  Various topics were covered including braced wall definition, methods to bring braced wall to code compliance, continuous load path solutions, re-establishing framing integrity altered by plumbing and HVAC code solutions and corrosion issues.  Brochures describing various energy insulation materials were distributed to members.   Also, there was an opportunity at the end of the presentation to look-over samples of the materials.

Adjournment:  With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
