Call to
Order: Don Forry, Chair, welcomed all and began the meeting at 9:00 a.m. He led
all in the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair Forry requested a moment of
silence in memory Roland Hall’s son who recently passed away.

Approval of Previous
Meeting Minutes:
The minutes of the January 27, 2005 meeting were approved as submitted
on a motion by Randy Maurer, seconded by Pete Kingsley. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
Jeff Helm presented a current Treasurer’s Report. He mentioned that
nine new members have registered since the last meeting. A treasury
report was available showing a balance in the treasury of $11,290.68.
Chair Forry
mentioned that the minutes and treasurer report are posted on the
website.
PABCO:
A general discussion was held on the benefits and services provided by
PABCO. Bob Buddenbohn, President, has been e-mailing the most recent
UCC updates to members. He does an excellent job keeping all
LanCode members up to date on UCC legislative and technical issues.
PABCO's website should operational by the end of the month. On a motion by Andy Nelson,
seconded by Craig Underwood members voted to approve a one-year
agreement with PABCO at an annual fee of $600.00. Motion carried
unanimously.
Revision to the
ByLaws – Membership:
Chair Forry announced that the by-laws have been revised to include the
following memberships: Active, Social and Honorary. The $40.00 fee will
be maintained for 2005. Chair Forry feels that the revision will
encourage membership and not just by ICC members.
Building Industry
Association Meeting:
Chair Forry announced that a meeting would be set-up with the BIA for
the end of March. Any members interested in attending should contact
Don. Don felt the meeting would be an important step in encouraging
dialogue between the groups. The BIA will also be invited to various
training sessions and seminars conducted by LanCode.
ASHREA Seminar:
Don also announced that ASHREA would be conducting a one-day seminar at
the end of April. More info will follow. Usually the seminars are less
than $200.00 which includes ASHRAE code standards.
Welcome - New
Members:
Chair Forry welcomed all new members including Walt Siderio from the
City, Gary Horning (recently hired by West Lampeter as code official), Norm Strenger
of CAI and Mark Broomell from Providence
Engineering.
Membership:
A general discussion was held on a mailing to encourage other design
professionals to participate in LanCode. Dan Fichtner from Providence
Engineering will create a form letter to be reviewed at the next
meeting. It will be mailed to various organizations including ABC, BIA
and AIA.
Lapel Pins and Logo:
Don will research and report back at the next meeting.
Education Presenter:
Don Forry, Chair, introduced the guest for the meeting. Sam W. Frances
from the American Wood Council gave a very informative presentation on
Wall Bracing, Section 602.10 of the 2003 IRC. Mr. Francis is the
Northeast Regional Manager for the American Wood Council. He encouraged
all members to e-mail him

with any questions. He also
mentioned that the website,
www.awc.org
is an excellent source of information.
