Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the January 27, 2005 meeting were approved as submitted on a motion by Randy Maurer, seconded by Pete Kingsley.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Jeff Helm presented a current Treasurer’s Report.  He mentioned that nine new members have registered since the last meeting.  A treasury report was available showing a balance in the treasury of $11,290.68. Chair Forry mentioned that the minutes and treasurer report are posted on the website.

PABCO:  A general discussion was held on the benefits and services provided by PABCO.  Bob Buddenbohn, President, has been e-mailing the most recent UCC updates to members.  He does an excellent job keeping all LanCode members up to date on UCC legislative and technical issues.  PABCO's website should operational by the end of the month. On a motion by Andy Nelson, seconded by Craig Underwood members voted to approve a one-year agreement with PABCO at an annual fee of $600.00.  Motion carried unanimously.

Revision to the ByLaws – Membership:  Chair Forry announced that the by-laws have been revised to include the following memberships: Active, Social and Honorary.  The $40.00 fee will be maintained for 2005.  Chair Forry feels that the revision will encourage membership and not just by ICC members.

Building Industry Association Meeting:  Chair Forry announced that a meeting would be set-up with the BIA for the end of March.  Any members interested in attending should contact Don.  Don felt the meeting would be an important step in encouraging dialogue between the groups.  The BIA will also be invited to various training sessions and seminars conducted by LanCode.

ASHREA Seminar: Don also announced that ASHREA would be conducting a one-day seminar at the end of April.  More info will follow.  Usually the seminars are less than $200.00 which includes ASHRAE code standards.

Welcome - New Members: Chair Forry welcomed all new members including Walt Siderio from the City, Gary Horning (recently hired by West Lampeter as code official), Norm Strenger of CAI and Mark Broomell from Providence Engineering.

Membership:  A general discussion was held on a mailing to encourage other design professionals to participate in LanCode.  Dan Fichtner from Providence Engineering will create a form letter to be reviewed at the next meeting.  It will be mailed to various organizations including ABC, BIA and AIA.

Lapel Pins and Logo: Don will research and report back at the next meeting.

Education Presenter:   Don Forry, Chair, introduced the guest for the meeting.  Sam W. Frances from the American Wood Council gave a very informative presentation on Wall Bracing, Section 602.10 of the 2003 IRC.   Mr. Francis is the Northeast Regional Manager for the American Wood Council.  He encouraged all members to e-mail him sam_francis@afandpa.org with any questions.  He also mentioned that the website, www.awc.org is an excellent source of information.

Adjournment:  With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,      Lynn M. Stauffer, Secretary
